Recommended OVERTAKE settings

Auto clutch on, shake down, radar on — then bind the keys you actually hit.

OVERTAKE Recommended Settings

OVERTAKE’s settings menu is small and it matters more than a wrap. The highway is a readability game: you need to see a van, hear a stall, and start from neutral without fighting camera shake. This page is the recommended baseline for PC and Console after the 28 February 2025 launch. Mobile is not supported yet, so there is no touch layout to copy.

If a toggle is missing on your build, EMZ Games may have renamed it. Use the live labels. Pair this page with controls, manual transmission, and the tools hub. Do not install a “settings script.” Official sliders are enough.

Auto clutch — leave it on

Auto clutch is on by default. Leave it on until you can drive a full session without thinking about the clutch key. OVERTAKE’s documented start is:

  1. Shift to neutral (not first).
  2. Press F to start.
  3. Give throttle.
  4. Upshift. Auto clutch blips the clutch for you.

Starting in first is the stall that fills comment sections. Auto clutch will not save a first-gear launch. It will save every upshift after a correct start. Turn it off only if you want extra credit and you already farm without stalls. There is no speed prize for turning it off on day one.

If you stall after a crash, return to neutral, start, throttle, shift. Same recipe. Details: manual.

Camera, shake, and first person

OVERTAKE supports first person and third. Highway cuts are easier when the next lane is visible. If the hood on an A-tier muscle car (BULL Devious, CHARRIOT M8) fills the screen, raise the camera or switch to a higher third-person chase until you learn how to overtake.

Camera shake looks expensive in a trailer and hides NPC bumpers in a 15-player mix. Turn it down or off while you learn. You can turn it up later for clips.

Do not buy a pack car just to “fix camera.” Camera is a setting. Packs are A-tier bodies.

Particles, wind, and graphics

Particles and wind are pretty on an empty road and noisy in traffic. If you already clip cars you did not see, drop particles first. Graphics should stay high enough that brake lights and lane paint read, and low enough that your frame time does not hitch mid-cut. A hitch is a wreck.

There is no official “competitive graphics code.” Use Roblox’s own graphics slider plus the in-game particle toggle. Do not chase an FPS injector; that conversation is the scripts warning, not a setting.

Speed unit, radar, debug

Speed unit is comfort. Pick km/h or mph and stop converting in your head during a pass.

Radar is the legal awareness tool. Turn it on if you still merge into traffic you swore was clear. It will not aim for you. It will not replace overtake discipline.

Debug is for checking whether a stall is a gearbox problem or a you problem. Leave it off in public sessions. Extra numbers steal the lane.

Keybinds that actually matter

Bind what your hands already hit:

  • Start / ignition (F by default). You will need it after every crash.
  • Clutch only if auto clutch is off.
  • Camera cycle if you swap first / third per car.
  • Horn if you must; it does not pass a van.

Console players should set these on the in-game screen, not in a phone overlay. PC players should avoid overlapping Roblox’s own camera binds until they have a session without accidental zoom.

After binds, drive a hatch from starter cars for ten minutes before you touch tuning. If the hatch still stalls, the bind is not the bug.

A conservative preset

ToggleStarter valueWhy
Auto clutchOnMatches the official start recipe
Camera shakeLow / offLets you see traffic
Particles / windLowCuts clutter
RadarOnLegal awareness
DebugOff in publicLess noise
Speed unitWhatever you already think inFewer conversions

Once that preset feels boring, change one row. If you change five at once you will not know which toggle saved a wreck. Graphics and binds are personal; auto clutch is not a personality test.

Leave auto clutch on until your left-hand shift is muscle memory.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for highway runs, codes, and tuning.

Should auto clutch stay on in OVERTAKE?

Yes for almost everyone. It is the default and it matches manual transmission. Turn it off later if you want extra work, not extra speed.

Why do I stall if auto clutch is on?

You are starting in first instead of neutral. Neutral, F, throttle, then shift. Controls lists the inputs; this page lists the toggles.

Is radar allowed?

Yes. It is an official setting. Injected ESP is not; see car client scripts. Use radar plus how to overtake.

Will lower graphics make me faster?

It can make cuts more readable if particles were hiding cars. It does not add km/h. Real speed is tuning and upgrades.

Are these settings different on Console?

Same toggles, different hands. Console is supported. Mobile is not supported yet. Start from Getting Started on a supported device.

Can settings replace VIP or packs?

No. Settings do not pay cash or grant BULL Devious. For rate, use cash boost math and VIP.
