Customize the OVERTAKE car
Looks in the garage. Speed on the highway. Do not mix the two spend piles.
OVERTAKE’s garage is two drawers. One is tuning — engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, the February 2026 [TUNING!] work. The other is cosmetics: rims, camber, horn, paint, plates, underglow, wraps. Launch-day footage from the first weekend showed the cosmetic drawer open and the performance drawer greyed out. That split still matters. A checker wrap does not restart a stalled engine. A stall still resets the overtake multiplier.
This page is the cosmetic drawer. Pair it with starter cars so you do not paint a hatch you are about to sell, and with upgrades so code cash hits handling first.
Open the garage, not the Shop
Join on PC or Console. Mobile is not supported yet. Press R for the game menu if you cannot find garage from the HUD. First-session videos show a garage teleport in the same menu as Settings. Use it in the lot. Do not open cosmetics mid-gap on the highway.
If the car will not move after a crash, leave the garage. Shift to Neutral, press F, add throttle, then E. That drill is on manual transmission and getting started. Cosmetics will not unstall you.
What the cosmetic tabs actually change
Early public sessions listed these look options:
- Rims — wheel faces. A few free, more paid in cash.
- Camber — wheel tilt. Looks aggressive. Too much camber on a highway cutter makes the car nervous in a lane change. If the car already “swings crazy” on a pad, leave camber stock until settings feel calm.
- Horn — noise. Zero speed.
- Paint — body color. Some stock colors are free. Full custom paint and underglow sit on the Custom Color gamepass (30 Robux), listed next to Radio on the players hub.
- Plates — identity, not grip.
- Underglow — night highway glow. Same Custom Color pass as paint.
- Wraps — skins: stock, checker, metal, carbon, and a short extra list. Most players stay stock until they have a car they intend to keep.
None of those raise the overtake multiplier. A crash still zeros it. Read how to overtake before you spend a 100k code on carbon fiber.
Custom Color versus Radio
Custom Color (30 Robux) unlocks custom paint and underglow. That is the cheapest Robux on the pass list. Buy it if you already restart after wrecks and you care how the car looks in the wheel camera (C cycles cameras, including the side/wheel view people clip).
Radio (50 Robux) is music on X, not a wrap. It does not change rims. Do not buy Radio thinking it is a livery pack.
Neither pass is VIP (500 Robux, 50% cash, tag, 25,000 cash) and neither is a Muscle or JDM pack. Packs spawn cars. Cosmetics dress the car you already drive.
Spend order so you do not look rich and stall
- Redeem working codes —
20K_LIKESis still in the official description. - Confirm Neutral + F after a crash.
- Put cash into upgrades that keep you in lane.
- Then buy a free wrap or a cheap rim.
- Custom Color only after the starter car feels restartable.
- Packs last, unless you already decided the hatch is done.
Launch-era garage footage showed engine, transmission, suspension, and brakes not available yet. The Tuning update opened that drawer. If you still see grey performance tabs, you are on an old clip, not a secret cosmetic lock. Current garage notes live on the Tuning update page.
Cameras, glow, and visibility
Underglow plus particle spam plus camera shake is how you miss the van in the right lane. Turn particles, wind, and shake down in settings before you add glow. Radar on is a legal “where is traffic” tool. Debug overlays steal attention in a 15-player server.
C changes camera. The wheel/side view looks good in clips and hides the next bumper. Use it for screenshots. Use a readable camera for cash routes.
What not to customize
Do not camber a car you cannot restart. Do not wrap a car you will replace after one tier list read. Do not chase licensed manufacturer names — Roblox thumbs look like Ferraris and Corvettes; the shop names are parody or moderated (the JDM pack car name is explicitly moderated).
Do not buy cosmetics from a Discord “free wrap” file. That is how accounts vanish. Official passes are on the Roblox pass list. Discord invites and the group shout are on links.
Finish a clean lap in a stock wrap. Then spend. The highway pays the player who still has a multiplier, not the player with the brightest underglow.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for highway runs, codes, and tuning.
Does a wrap make the OVERTAKE car faster?
No. Wraps, rims, paint, and glow are looks. Speed and restarts come from tuning and manual gears.
What does the Custom Color pass unlock?
Custom paint and underglow for 30 Robux. Radio is a separate 50 Robux pass on **X**. See players for the full pass list.
Why were engine and brakes locked at launch?
Launch garage showed cosmetics first. Performance parts opened with the Tuning update. Use the live garage, not a March 2025 clip.
Should I camber the wheels?
Leave stock until the car is calm. Extra camber plus a twitchy pad is a crash, and a crash resets the overtake multiplier.
Where do I teleport to the garage?
Game menu (**R**) includes a garage teleport next to Settings. Customize in the lot, then return to the highway.
